The Eliava Institute closely collaborates with the private organizations which have been developed on the basis of the Industrial Department of the former SIU “Bacteriophage” These are: ”BioPharm JSC", BioChimPharm JSC" and "Immunogen Ltd.".
The "Immunogen" and "BioChimPharm JSC" together with the Eliava participate in realization of the international projects funded by CRDF and ISTC.
International Collaboration
Since 1994 scientist of the staff members and PhD students affiliated with the Eliava Institute received up to 30 international grants and scholarships. Presently 14 international collaborative projects funded by INTAS (EU), CRDF (USA), ISTC (EU, USA, Japan), BTEP (USA), DTRA (USA), NATO are in progress.

Since 2003 the Eliava Institute is involved into the Georgian-American Program “Biological Weapon Proliferation Prevention (BWPP) which aims at consolidation and protection of the pathogens, their detection, investigation and search of the methods for their inactivation. This program emphasizes the importance of the Eliava Institute for Georgia and the Caucasian region as a whole.
