The RECAMBR has been established and developed due to the CRDF grant support (CRDF-RESC-GR2-998), which provided the Eliava Institute with a variety of modern scientific equipment with the total cost of about 280 000 USD.

A part of this funding has been used for improvement of the unique electron microscope JEOL EX -1200 which allows to perform high quality micro-photo-graphic imaging of the bacteria and bacteriophages.
